Ledley eyes lifelong Celtic stay after championship triumph

Joe Ledley has indicated that he would like to remain with Celtic for the rest of his playing career after experiencing the joy of winning the Scottish Premier League title.

After helping the Hoops to a 6-0 victory at Kilmarnock on Saturday, which enabled the Glasgow giants to take their 43rd premiership, Ledley suggests he would love to stay at Parkhead for as long as possible in order to taste more success.

"I've got another two years on my contract after this season, so I've got a long time to go. But you never know what can happen in football - I could end up here for life. If that is the deal, I'll be very happy," the Welshman said.

"The very reason I joined Celtic was to win things. The fans at Kilmarnock were unbelievable and they have been like that all season. They support you no matter what and winning this title vindicates the belief of the group.

"I thought we were unlucky not to win it last season but these things happen. We went away, came back even stronger this season and proved ourselves. It's a fantastic feeling."
