Leckie on target as FSV Frankfurt push away from drop zone

Mathew Leckie was on target as FSV Frankfurt edged fifth-placed St Pauli 1-0 in the German 2.Bundesliga on the weekend.

The 23-year old Australian striker scored with a deflected effort in the ninth minute at the Frankfurter Volksbank Stadion as the Bornheimer moved to 30 points from 24 outings, five clear of the relegation zone.

FSV managed to deny the St Pauli attack for the entire contest and their job became easier at the death when Tom Trybull was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Former Borussia Monchengladbach youngster Leckie has now scored seven league goals in 22 appearances this season for a total of nine in all competitions.
