Adelaide United youngster Mathew Leckie will miss tonight's Asian Champions League Round of 16 knockout clash with Korea club Jeonbuk Motors at Hindmarsh Stadium.

The talented 19-year old winger is out because of suspension after picking up too many yellow cards in the group stage meaning the Reds have lost one of their quickest players but coach Joe Mullen said the team would take on their opponents by attempting to exploit them with pace.

"I think there are a couple of keys. Offensively we need to be strong (and) we need to use the speed that we have got in the front third," Mullen said.

"We'll miss Leckie, he has been good, his speed is phenomenal and we saw that in the first six games, but the player that comes in to replace him tomorrow night is quick, and we see that as a bit of an advantage for us, that we have got quick players in our front third."

In saying that, Mullen was well aware that Jeonbuk are a dangerous side and indentified Brazilian Eninho as one of their key players.

"We know they're going to be a formidable opponent, we know there are no real weak links in their squad, they're a good football team and you don't become K-League champions if you're not, and we're expecting a tough game, but in saying that we're confident we can do well," Mullen added.

"We need to be aware of their dangers, particularly Eninho…so it's about recognising where their strengths are, we think we know where they are, and trying to nullify them."
