Lebanon attempt to walk off pitch in King's Cup

The Lebanese football side twice threatened to end their King's Cup clash against Thailand in Phuket on Wednesday night. On two occasions, team officials and security guards were needed on the pitch to keep things under wraps as Lebanon's Zakaria Charara took offence to rough play conducted by Thai players.

Repeated scuffling between Charara and Thailand's Suree Sukha was the cause for the commotion but when Charara struck out at Suree's twin brother Surat in a case of mistaken identity, the tension between the two sides was clearly visible.

After the fracas, the Lebanese players left the field in protest but were convinced to resume play by Thai soccer president Worawi Makudi.

Once the players returned to the pitch, play resumed but just five minutes later, Suree made a strong challenge on Charara who was incensed that the player was not booked and began another brawl by slapping both Suree and Thai captain Datsakorn Thonglao in the face.

The visiting side again left the field but again returned only for the referee to prematurely end the match.

Thailand were ahead 2-1 and will go through to Friday's final despite the match being incomplete.
