Leandro Paredes is happy he chose to stay with Roma.

The midfielder spent last season on loan with Empoli.

“I'm glad to have stayed," Paredes told Sky Italia.

“It was my first choice ever since I returned from Empoli. It's what I wanted, so I'm very happy.

“I don't know what the Coach [Luciano Spalletti] thinks but I'm sure I'm in his thoughts. He's made me feel important every day, so I can't be anything but happy.

“I hope to play as many games as possible and try to win with this team."
