Arsene Wenger is hoping his Arsenal squad can continue to gain vital minutes within the EFL Cup.
The Gunners advanced to the quarter-finals of the league cup competition with a 2-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night.
The match gave Wenger the chance to hand starts to the likes of goalkeeper Emi Martinez, young defender Rob Holding, promising midfielders Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Ainsley Maitland-Niles while Chris Willock and Gedion Zelalem came off the bench in what was a successful night out for the North Londoners.
"Look, if we stay in all the competitions, it's not too difficult. And that's a positive of qualifying tonight," Wenger said when asked of squad participation.
"We have always targets and the players who, for example, we have three top class goalkeepers, because you see Emi Martinez as well.
"But as long as we are in this competition, he obviously gets his game so they have a focus, something to focus on."
The Gunners will learn their quarter-final opponents when the draw takes place after Wednesday night's clash between Manchester United and Manchester City.
