Leaders Liverpool now set sights on Man City

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is eagerly anticipating next weekend's clash with Manchester City.

The Premier League leaders find themselves two points clear of second-placed Chelsea following Sunday's 3-0 win over West Ham United but they are just four ahead of third-placed City who have two games in hand.

Two Steven Gerrard penalties either side of Guy Demel's leveller allowed the Reds to extend their winning streak to nine matches ahead of what could be a title-defining fixture at home against City next Sunday.

"It's going to be a great game," Rodgers told Sky Sports.

"It's nine games on the spin now, which is an incredible effort by the players and the staff. Today was a really tough game for us, now we will recover and reflect on the game.

"It is going to be a magnificent atmosphere at Anfield. The supporters really urged us on today and we want to see if we can get 10 in a row."
