Grant Leadbitter was delighted to skipper Sunderland for Saturday's 0-0 FA Cup draw with Blackburn Rovers.

Leadbitter has not been a regular this season and his future at Sunderland is unclear. But he was handed the armband by Ricky Sbragia and he revealed his pride at captaining his hometown club.

He said: "It was a massive honour to be captain. I was really pleased when Ricky (Sbragia) told me.

"Everyone knows how much Sunderland means to me."
