Daniel Leach has signed a one-year deal with English League Two club Barnet. The 23-year old Australian impressed Bees officials in a recent trial against Arsenal and has joined the club from USL first division outfit Portland Timbers U23s.
The defender has signed for one year with the option of extending for a further 12 months.
"He is going to be an asset," Barnet boss Ian Hendon told the club's official website.
"I have been looking for another central defender.
"Hopefully Daniel will put pressure on Gary Breen and Ismail Yakubu. "
Leach said the pre-season friendly against the Gunners was a fantastic experience.
"The appearance against Arsenal was probably the biggest game of my career to date," he said.
"Just looking over and seeing the likes of Andrey Arshavin in the opposition side was tremendous."
