Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier can see Mauricio Pochettino leaving Tottenham.

Pochettino previously impressed as Southampton manager, seeing a talented young squad record a joint-high Premier League finish, before being tempted away by Spurs' lofty ambitions.

Le Tissier said: "It doesn't shock me that Pochettino, who is an ambitious manager, would be touting himself for other jobs and it wouldn't surprise me if he left.

"He's very driven, be it by ambition or finances and I think if PSG did come knocking then he would accept it."

Le Tissier believes it would be a mistake for Pochettino to move on this summer with a wealth of young talent in his Spurs squad, while suggesting PSG might not even be interested due to his lack of Champions League experience.

"I think he'd be mad to leave to be honest because he's got something very good there. I'd like to see him stay at Tottenham and continue to build.

"You don't see why they won't be challenging for the title next season and you'd certainly expect them to be in the top-four mix.

"The French league isn't very competitive so it would be purely for the Champions League, but I think that reasoning could count against him as PSG want a man who will deliver them the Europe's top prize.

"He is certainly forging a reputation as one of the top managers out there but he's still some way off the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho."
