Matt Le Tissier is set to be named new Southampton chairman today - with Kevin Keegan being installed as manager.

The Sun says it is understood Le Tissier and Keegan, 58, talked in Southampton yesterday.

One of the stumbling blocks holding back any Keegan appointment is he has yet to agree a compensation package with Newcastle following his shock exit in September after a dispute with St James' Park directors.

Le Tissier has fought hard to help gain control of Southampton and the takeover group Pinnacle, which he fronts, is expected to be officially announced as fully in charge today.
