Graeme Le Saux has likened Chelsea's problems this season to the title hangover at Blackburn Rovers.
Le Saux experienced a similar dip in fortunes at Blackburn and he fears behind-the-scenes issues have contributed to the Blues' downfall.
He told The Sun: "It goes to show you can have ability but you are nothing without a team ethos. You don't go from being No.1 last season to 14th as they are.
"When I was at Blackburn, the same thing happened to us, we were the champions then we dropped.
"There were lots of things going on behind the scenes, in the dressing room. There can be clashes in personality and differences of opinion."
