Former Atalanta midfielder Andrea Lazzarri is delighted with his move to Cagliari.

"It's great to return to Serie A," the 23-year-old said after last season's spell on-loan at Grosseto.

"I have to thank the atmosphere in Grosseto as that spell gave me confidence after a year that didn't go so well.

"Naturally I also want to thank Cagliari. They only contacted me four days ago.

"At first I hadn't heard anything but the newspaper rumours. The Press said that several teams were interested, but Cagliari wanted me most."
