Lazio want Southampton striker Pelle to replace departing Klose

Lazio are believed to be eyeing Graziano Pelle as a possible replacement for Miroslav Klose.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Italian club have identified the Southampton striker as the man to step into the void left by veteran German forward Klose.

The 37-year-old's contract with the capital club expires this summer and the Biancocelesti are looking for a younger attacker to take the mantle.

Pelle has just over 12 months remaining on his contract with the Saints and has spoken of his desire to return to his homeland before too long.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is also believed to be a keen admirer of Pelle who has netted 29 goals in 78 outings for Southampton since arriving from Dutch club Feyenoord in the summer of 2014.
