Lazio have opened talks with Newell's Old Boys for midfielder Mauricio Sperdutti.

Rosario sources say Lazio have begun negotiations with Newell's about a January deal for Sperdutti.

There is still some way to go to finding an agreement for the 23 year-old, but Lazio hope to close a deal before the winter transfer window opens.
