Lazio are planning a bid for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

The Daily Mail says Italian sources claim Walter Tamer, Macherano's agent, has been sounded out about a possible move. Tamer has said that the midfielder could move to Italy later this season.

Mascherano has not been a regular starter for Liverpool this season, manager Rafa Benitez preferring a central midfield partnership of Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso.

The Argentinian has been frustrated by his lack of playing time which Lazio hope to capitalise on.
