Lazio are ready to send River Plate goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo to Spain for six months in midseason.

Carrizo is struggling to gain his Italian passport, but Lazio president Claudio Lotito wants to complete his signing in January and held talks with the Argentine's representatives last week.

Lotito wants to place Carrizo in the Spanish Primera Liga before bringing him to Rome next summer.
