Lazio defender Modibo Diakite could be on his way to Sunderland this summer according to Sky Sports.
The 26-year old centre-back has fallen somewhat out of favour in Rome and is believed to be keen on making the move to England.
Reports suggest that Sunderland and Lazio have agreed a fee for the Frenchman who has also been tracked by Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton in recent times.
