Lazio president Claudio Lotito admits they tried to send Ravel Morrison and Edson Braafheid to Salernitana.

Lotito owns both Lazio and Serie B side Salernitana, so can easily loan players from one side to another.

“Braafheid and Morrison refused to join Salernitana and I cannot force them to accept," Lotito told Metropolis.

“They are players of quality for Serie B, I'd say worthy of the Champions League. I tried to the last moment of the transfer window, but was unable to convince them.

“I had also promised them some bonuses, but now they will stay at Lazio where they don't play."
