Lazio president Claudio Lotito is determined to sign River Plate winger Augusto Fernandez.

Lotito was forced to shelve a January deal for the young Argentine due to the lack of an EU passport, but will try again at the end of the season.

Lazio already have experience in such circumstances over the drawn-out deal for goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo and Lotito enjoys a good relationship with Fernandez's agent, Pablo Sabbag.
