Lazio president Claudio Lotito was beaming after their stunning 3-1 victory over Inter Milan last night.
Victory puts the Biancocelesti temporarily joint top of the table alongside AC Milan.
"A game should be seen in its entirety. We could've won 4-0 and there was an amazing mistake from Stefano Mauri right in front of goal," declared Lotito.
"If we had scored a third then, it would've definitively killed off Inter's hopes. We played great football, moved like a team unit and had excellent individual contributions too.
"We deserved this victory and dominated the match."
Mauro Zarate was one of the goalscorers, though his rapport with the club has been troubled of late.
"He simply had performance anxiety. This time he played totally at the service of the team, proving that with Sergio Floccari and Hernanes we can challenge any other strike force.
"As for the Scudetto, we'll take it one game at a time, maintaining the same spirit of humility and sacrifice that took us to this point."
