Lazio president Claudio Lotito has rejected the resignation of coach Edy Reja.
Reja offered to resign on Sunday night after defeat to Genoa.
"It's true, I did not accept the resignation and would not let the Coach go," Lotito told Sky Sport Italia.
"As long as I am the President, the Coach will be untouchable. Reja just wanted to express his unhappiness at a city that does not love him.
"He is very disappointed at the negative climate that has been created around him despite the fact he is a man who has given a great deal to Lazio.
"I wanted to call the squad together so we can all close ranks around the Coach and he knows the club and players are with him.
"We will all begin again from Wednesday's game with Cesena."
