Lazio president Claudio Lotito has confirmed their interest in Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

"Vennegoor of Hesselink is a player we rate highly," Lotito told the Daily Record.

"We have been watching him closely for a while. His strength is a real attribute and he has a lot of European experience.

"He is a player who we are interested in without a doubt, but it depends on what kind of transfer fee Celtic would ask for. Anything beyond £5.5m is out of our range."
