Lazio are intent on tying down Stefan De Vrij to a new contract.

Calciomercato.com is reporting that the Italian club are determined to keep the Dutch defender at the Stadio Olimpico beyond the 18 months he has remaining on his current deal.

Chelsea and AC Milan are showing interest in De Vrij but Lazio are hoping to negotiated fresh terms while inserting a €40million release clause into the deal.

It is understood that Lazio will offer the 24-year-old €2million per year plus add-ons to keep him away from the likes of Chelsea and Milan.
