Serie A club Lazio are plotting a January move for Liverpool veteran Kolo Toure, according to Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero.
According to the report, Lazio have been hit hard by injuries to Stefan de Vrij and Santiago Gentiletti and manager Stefano Pioli has identified Toure as an emergency transfer target.
The Ivorian is currently the fourth choice centre-back at Anfield behind Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho and is only likely to be used by Jurgen Klopp if there are injuries to the aforementioned trio.
Toure's current deal expires in the summer and the Reds would be willing to recoup some money for him in the winter transfer window if Lazio were to come forward with an offer.
