Lazio midfielder Lucas on Liverpool, Dalglish and Gerrard: Every day a battle, but...

Lazio midfielder Lucas Leiva has reflected on his time at Liverpool.

The Brazil international left the Reds for Lazio last summer.

He recalled to Esporte Interativo: "The adaptation was very difficult, physically I was not ready to face such a quick and physical championship like the Premier League. Every day was a battle, but I remember positively especially the 2010/11 season under the guidance of coach Kenny Dalglish.

"For me it was sensational, the best with the Reds."

On former Reds captain Steven Gerrard, Lucas added: "The best player I've played with. Not just for the player but also for the person, for what he represented and still represents for the club. Always available for teammates, ready to help you with your advice.

"A true Englishman also characteristically, very shy and reserved."
