Lazio furious as Bengtsson signs with Hertha Berlin

Lazio are fuming after seeing Swedish defender Rasmus Bengtsson sign for Hertha Berlin this week.

"Now you understand why I never talk about transfers until the paperwork has been deposited with the authorities," slammed President Claudio Lotito.

"His 'agent' Olivier Cabrera had the contract and a letter detailing his fee, then I don't know what happened. I think the player wants to come to Lazio and if he does then we will find a space for him, but otherwise it will not end here."

The problem is that Lazio cannot find the copy of the contract that was signed, even though it was reportedly in front of witnesses

"We have a contract signed by the player," explained director of sport Igli Tare. "We met in a hotel and negotiated deep into the night.

"We signed the paperwork with six people present and Cabrera said he would keep hold of the original until he had economic guarantees.

"The appointment was for the next morning, but Cabrera left. We are ready to take this matter to FIFA to have the player.

"We did not mistreat anyone, the problem is not with the lad, but his agent."
