Lazio are encouraging Liverpool to bid for Modibo Diakite.
The defender is off contract in June and talks over a new deal have collapsed, says Lalaziosiamonoi.it.
Liverpool made tentative enquiries last month about Diakite's situation and Lazio president Claudio Lotito is now eager for them to make an immediate offer.
