AC Milan are out of the Coppa Italia after losing 2-1 to Lazio at the San Siro last night.

The home side were leading 1-0 with only minutes remaining thanks to a stunning strike from Andrei Shevchenko, who was enjoying a rare start for the Rossoneri.

The ex-Chelsea striker's 76th minute goal appeared enough to send his side through despite the fact that they were playing a man down after Emerson was sent off in the 66th minute.

However an 87th minute penalty to Lazio was converted by Mauro Zarate and the match went into extra-time.

Two minutes into the first period Pandev hit the winner for Lazio following excellent lead-up play by Zarate. Lazio held on for the win but only after Ronaldinho's late freekick hit the upright.
