Lazio director Igli Tare has branded the scrapping of Kevin Strootman's ban as "absurd".

During defeat to Roma last Sunday, Strootman squirted water at Danilo Cataldi on the touchline, who reacted and was sent off from the bench. Strootman received a two-match ban for simulation, but it was revoked on appeal yesterday.

“Everything that happened started because of his provocation, so I find it absurd that he fell because of Cataldi's actions.

"We were denied a penalty too," snapped Tare.
