Lazio coach Delio Rossi was in crisis talks last night with president Claudio Lotito after their dismal home defeat to Genoa.

"My position is not in doubt, even if we need to turn over a new leaf," insisted Rossi.

"To do so we need to change something in the way we play and our overall attitude. I want to remain at Lazio and it is in times of crisis that the men stand out from the boys."

Lazio midfielder Massimo Mutarelli admitted: "It was an ugly loss, especially as both goals came in quick succession.

"Genoa did well, but we were very confused on the field. We couldn't seem to create any real scoring opportunities.

"The spirit was right, but something just wasn't working on the pitch. Plus the referee was very generous with our opponents."
