Lazio chief Ighli Tare has poured cold water on reports they're keen on Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi.

"He has certainly had a very important career, but he has a certain age and I don't think that is the right direction for us," said Tare.

Lazio are expected to step up talks for Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini this week.
