Lazio chief Tare admits trying Villarreal's Nilmar

Lazio chief Igli Tare says they tried to sign Villarreal striker Nilmar last month.

Villarreal’s Brazilian striker Nilmar was targeted on deadline day.

“With about two hours of the window left, President Claudio Lotito agreed an €11m deal,” Tare said.

“At the last minute Villarreal asked for bank guarantees which were impossible to produce in such a small space of time.”
