Lazio boss Vladimir Petkovic has dismissed title talk.

Petkovic still won't talk about Lazio as title contenders even after soaring into second place with a victory away to Sampdoria.

"We worked hard for these results and over the last month we've started to believe that we can do something important," said the Coach following a 1-0 win at Marassi.

"It has been a great first half of the season and now we can have a deserved rest. Once again today we did well both in attack and without the ball, struggling under pressure only in the first half.

"Are we setting our sights on Juventus? No, we are looking only at Lazio. Our ambition must be to always improve and be convincing.

"This Lazio has done well, but not enough to be a contender to Juventus. I am not in charge of the transfer strategy, as I just concentrate on the team."
