The agent and brother of Mauro Zarate says the striker will quit Lazio if coach Davide Ballardini remains in charge. This week Ballardini bitterly criticised his striker for being selfish and failing to help his teammates in the 4-1 win over Livorno.
"Since I started in football I have never seen anything like what Ballardini did," slammed Zarate's brother and agent, Sergio.
"You talk to players inside the locker room, not in the open air. He showed a complete lack of respect for Mauri and his words are truly incredible. He proved he doesn't know the unwritten rules of football and team spirit.
"The only way to clarify this situation is for the Coach to publicly apologise to Mauro. Otherwise at the end of the season President Claudio Lotito must make a decision: Either Ballardini leaves or Zarate does.
"If nothing changes, then this will be the situation."
