Miguel Layun is determined to back up his debut Premier League performance for Watford with more of the same.

The versatile Mexican netted the Hornets' opener in their eventual 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday and he is looking to follow that up with further impressive form for the club he joined from Club America in January.

"It was very special," he said. "It was the perfect moment for me.

"I can look at everyone and say: 'You didn't make a mistake bringing me here'.

"That made me feel really good because it makes people believe in me. That moment was like: 'Man, I am with you. Now I will show you why I was brought here'."

Watford host West Bromwich Albion at Vicarage Road on Saturday in their second fixture of the 2015/16 Premier League season.
