Lawwell: Celtic calm on Commons but keen to tie down Lustig

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell says the club is remaining calm on Kris Commons’ current situation.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell says the club is remaining calm on Kris Commons’ current situation.

The 30-year old attacking midfielder has 18 months left to run on his current deal meaning the Hoops are not too worried about re-signing him just yet although the same does not apply for Swedish defender Mikael Lustig who has a similar amount of time remaining at Parkhead.

"We haven't done anything on Kris," Lawwell told Sky Sports News. "He has a year-and-a-half to go and I think he is quite happy with that.

"Mikael has a year-and-a-half to go and we are hoping to start conversations with his people as well. He has been fantastic, a great buy, a great find, and he has done really well for us."
