Lawrence keen for Portsmouth to maintain winning ways

Portsmouth midfielder Liam Lawrence has urged his side to continue their recent defensive improvements as they prepare to visit Hull. Pompey travel to the KC Stadium having picked up four wins in their last five and on the back of their first clean sheet in eight games following the 1-0 win at Millwall in midweek.

"We need to go to Hull and do what we did at Millwall - keep a clean sheet. If we do that, we'll be fine because we are scoring goals," he said.

"The gaffer said to us at half-time we can't afford to keep conceding goals and having to win games by scoring two or three ourselves. It's not possible.

"Hull will be a tough game. I think it will be tougher than Millwall. But it's a game that we are looking forward to."
