Lavicka has no plans to step down at Sydney FC

Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka says the thought of quitting his job has never entered his mind during the club's poor attempt at defending their A-League title.

The Czech tactician led the Sky Blues to the Premiership/Championship double in his first season as coach but this term, he has the club sitting ninth of 11, and with almost no chance of making the finals.

But Lavicka, who has experience coaching in the top flight in his homeland, says he is keen to remain in charge and help get the club out of trouble and he added that he has the backing of the Sydney FC board.

"Every coach is under pressure if the result doesn't come, but I have many years experience from overseas from Europe, so I know it," he said at training on Thursday.

"I can't say nothing against Sydney FC board.

"We have very good relationships, professional approach to each other…

"I am a person who doesn't give up anything," he added.

"I'm a positive thinking person. I would like to give the team 100 per cent effort to improve.

"There is no time for resigning."
