Lavicka backs Sydney to turn around two-match losing streak

Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka has backed his side to return to form after dropping their past two matches. The Sky Blues went down 2-0 to Perth Glory yesterday, relinquishing their top on spot of the A-League for the first time in weeks but Lavicka is confident his players have the character to bounce back, beginning with the Newcastle Jets next weekend.

"Every good team is able to show character when they lose a game," Lavicka said.

"Now we have the chance to do that next week.

"You have a look at our change room, every player is disappointed of course, but we need to pick up our confidence and show ourselves that we are a team that's able to play well next game.

"Against Newcastle, I trust the players that we pick will play better than today."
