Sport.co.uk is reporting that Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been priced out of a move for Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Spaniard had earmarked the Argentine prodigy, once dubbed the "next Maradona" as the ideal foil for Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.
However, the players agent Frederic Guerra revealed that it is unlikely that Liverpool, or any club would be able to afford Napoli's coveted number 7.
When asked about Lavezzi's possible move to The Reds in the January window, Guerra said:
"There is interest. But it is impossible for Lavezzi to move, as Napoli want a lot of money for the striker, so it will be difficult. I don't think a transfer will happen in January."
Lavezzi was heavily linked with a £13 million move to Liverpool last summer.
