Martin Laursen has urged Gareth Barry to stick with Aston Villa.

"The fans know he is a very good player and he has done so much for the club," Laursen said. "I don't think it is certain he will go. When you have the possibility to go to a Champions League club, then you think about it but I am sure he is very happy here. He knows he is very popular here and the fans like him.

"They gave him a nice reception and all of us players hope he will stay because he is so important for the team."
