Martin Laursen has hailed the defensive depth of Aston Villa's squad.
"We've had a great defender on the bench in Curtis Davies this season and that means Zat and I have had to keep on our toes. There's no doubt that if either of us started playing badly then the manager would have no hesitation in putting Curtis into the line-up.
"His time will come, no doubt about that. He is just waiting for his chance. And I'm sure Olof will be looking to regain a central role too.
"Competition is what you need if you are going to be successful. Pressure makes professional footballers play better and that's certainly the case with me.
"It's a measure of how far this football club has come that a player of Curtis's ability has to sit on the bench. Zat joined at the same time as Curtis and he performed really well immediately.
"The manager is obviously reluctant to drop a player in form so obviously Curtis has to wait. He is only young, though, and I'm sure his time will come."
