Former Aston Villa captain Martin Laursen has moved smoothly into the media since retiring last season.
Laursen is now a pundit on local Danish television.
He told Villa's website: "Villa are always the team I look out for when I check results. They are the only team which interests me, genuinely. If Villa are on TV, I love watching them in action.
"I loved my time with Villa, I can't stress that enough. I have to say I had a difficult time initially with my injuries but when I overcame those and Martin O'Neill arrived, it was so, so good. We understood each other perfectly and he gave me that freedom to train as I wanted - as long as I was fit for the games. He was happy with that. That was just ideal for me - and he understood that perfectly.
"I think my style of game was perfect for the Premier League too. Where I was good was being physical - you're told 'win your headers, win your tackles'. That's where I was good. You want that from your centre-halves in England. It was different in Italy because they wanted different attributes there. The way of football in England just suited me 100 per cent. It was great.
"In the end I had two seasons where everything was so, so nice and I felt physically brilliant. I had a great relationship with the manager and the people around him and Villa played some good football.
"We won a lot of games. The team played well and I played well. That was the end of my career and that's why I felt good retiring because I was on such a high."
