Laudrup set for transfer showdown talks with Swansea chiefs

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup is set for crunch talks with club chiefs over their transfer policy.

The Daily Star says the Dane signed a new contract earlier this year after guiding Swansea to their Capital One Cup triumph and ninth place in the Premier League - their highest finish in 31 years. But, according to agent Bayram Tutumlu, that deal was on the condition the board delivered on an alleged promise to strengthen the squad.

Laudrup looks set to miss out on long-term transfer target, Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, who is poised to join Liverpool.

Swansea are wary of racking up debts and plan a £10m redevelopment to increase the Liberty Stadium capacity to 32,000.
