New Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup rejected bigger offers to take the Premier League job.
Danish icon Laudrup, 48 yesterday, celebrated his birthday by penning a two-year deal and will be officially unveiled next Thursday.
Laudrup - pursued by top clubs in Greece and Turkey - said: "I've spoken to the chairman and I'm very pleased to sign.
"It's going to be a new experience for me and I'm really looking forward to it. I've spoken to many people about Swansea and watched a number of their games on DVD - with many more to watch.
"Everyone knows the attacking style they play and it suits my way of thinking."
