Michael Laudrup admits he knew little about Swansea City before his appointment.

It was only last season the club leapt to Laudrup's attention when he watched them on television.

He told The Sun: "I must be honest, I didn't know too much.

"Like anyone else who looks at the game from outside, there are teams on TV you see more often than others.

"But I knew it was Swansea's first season in the Premier League.

"It's tough for a team to go from the second division to first. They did well."
