Michael Laudrup was bitterly disappointed as Swansea City were beaten 3-1 in the third round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
The Swans, who won the competition last season, were deposed by 2011 winners Birmingham at St Andrews who were served by goals from Dan Burn, Matt Green and Tom Adeyemi whilst Wilfried Bony pulled one back late for the losers.
The result was not ideal for Laudrup, who was hoping to pride the club on achieving as much success as possible, but he was realistic after making a handful of changes to the side that beat Valencia in the Europa League last week.
"I want to go as far as possible in all competitions," Laudrup told Sky Sports
"We lost the possibility to go far in the competition.
"I have no regrets (about making 10 changes). You could say 10 changes from the last game but five of the players who played here were in the starting XI against Valencia."
