Laudrup bookies favourite to succeed Pellegrini at Real Madrid

Michael Laudrup is the bookies favourite to succeed Manuel Pellegrini as Real Madrid coach.

williamhill.com have installed Laudrup as their 2-1 favourite to become the next manager of Real Madrid. The former Getafe coach, who is currently out of work, heads a list of top class coaches in line to replace the current coach Manuel Pellegrini, who is 9-2 to leave Real Madrid this weekend.

The 4-1 second favourite for the position is Real Madrid's current Director General Jorge Valdano, while the current Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is a 7-1 shot to get the job.

Other prominent candidates include the former Spanish coach Luis Aragones (7-1), the former Real Zaragoza coach Victor Fernandez (8-1), the former Real Madrid player and current Getafe coach - Michel (10-1), and the former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti (12-1).

Williamhill.com also make Florentino Perez 100-1 to appoint himself as the next Real Madrid coach.

Williamhill.com spokesman Tony Kenny said "Florentino Perez isn't a patient man and if Real Madrid don't win against Getafe on Saturday then Pellegrini will probably get the sack. The 4-0 loss to Alcorcon in the Copa Del Rey has heaped a huge amount of pressure on the club, and we believe a change of coach could be imminent" He continued "Michael Laudrup is our red hot favourite to become the next Real Madrid coach, but we've also seen good money for Rafa Benitez and Michel"
