Late equaliser gives Shandong Luneng a point in Seoul

Shandong Luneng have been held to a 1-1 draw by FC Seoul in the Asian Champions League.

Played at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, the home side hit the lead in the first half thanks to a header from Park Yong-ho and it looked like they would snatch an unlikely victory when they remained a goal up in the 80th minute.

But Alejandro Cichero equalised in the final ten minutes to take a point and remain three points in front of Seoul on the Group F table.

Shandong coach Ljubisa Tumbakovic was pleased with the result after the match.

"I think that 1-1 is not a bad result for us," he said.

"Because of this result, we have a good chance to get to the next round and this it our objective. There are still two games left and we still have a lot of work to do.

"This was an important game for both teams. Both coaches showed all they had to show. We had to defend at times and we tried to counter-attack from that position but it didn't work so well for us.

"But this was an important point for us."
